Well, I did say I'd get back to quilting, sooner or later, right? Well, I can't say that I'm not still totally pre-occupied with a grandson, but I have had a few minutes to think about other things. One of which is this BEAUTIFUL quilt that Melissa, over at Honeybee Fabrics, is offering as a Block of the Quarter! I've been pulling it up almost every day since I first got the e-mail about it at the beginning of the month, debating on whether or not I am going to do this . . .
Today, I gave in to my inner quilt shopper and signed up. She was down to 7 slots, I couldn't stand anymore nail-biting days of trying to decide should I? or shouldn't I? . . . I am IN!
Isn't it lovely? It makes me so *ready* for Spring!! I do love the fact that it's mailed quarterly, too. Easier on my time *and* budget! :)
And I've been talking an awful lot about a giveaway, lately, I know! Here's a sneak peak at one of the items in my giveaway package . . .
Heart for a Hero, by Ed Ditto and Laura D. Patrick! This was published by the American Quilter's Society late last year.
I happen to be friends with one of the co-authors, Laura (we both belong to Heritage Quilters of Huntsville and she was so helpful in sharing resources with me when I was looking for a pattern for Jocelyn's wedding signature quilt), and she's helping me out here. The giveaway copy of her book will be a brand new, signed copy, personalized for the winner!!
This was a *great* book, and once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I've told her I am anxiously awaiting the next in the series! And hey, what better break can a quilter take from quilting, than reading about quilting?? That's my motto, anyway.
I seem to notice some commonalities amongst quilters (especially those who blog) . . . lots of times they're also readers, a lot of them seem to be tea lovers, and cats show up all the time in their blogs. Interesting.
I'll be posting tidbits for the next couple days, then the whole package and what you have to do to win, on Friday!!!
Todd called me just a bit ago and told me I'd received a package in today's mail. I just *know* it's from a blog giveaway I won! How exciting; I can't wait to go home and see what it is! I'll definitely share photos tomorrow.
And lastly, me and my darling little grandman . . .
What? You didn't think you were going to get away without me sharing about the joy of my life right now? Ha -- fat chance of that happening!
*grandma sigh*
