whoohooo!!!

I realized the other day, when I got my invitation to our Stitcher's Christmas party -- which said we needed to bring a Christmas show & tell -- that I didn't have a Christmas show & tell! I've not ever worked on anything 'Christmas'. Ruh roh! Then last night, when I was putting out Christmas decorations, I realized I didn't have a Christmas table topper, either!

Shazam. I had some time this morning, so I pulled up EQ and pulled up the Heavenly Stars topper that I had played with and printed it out . . .

And I scratched it out in my book, so I could figure out what I needed to cut . . .

On the Quilter's Cache website, they showed this technique for quick cutting/piecing the squares. If you look closely, you can see the lines I marked to stitch and cut.

This is what it yielded me:

I had all my single, solid squares all cut out . . .

Look at all the fun things I could do!

Oooh, this is fun . . .

Hmmm, this has potential . . .

Oh! I like this!

Focus, Denise. FOCUS!! You still have sixteen more squares to cut!!

I used that same method.

Got that done, now to press and trim to 2-1/2" . . .

I didn't have time to stitch it together yet, but I did lay it out!

I love it! With a double border, it should finish out at about 17-1/2", square. Just perfect for our table!

And I'll have a show & tell for the party, too!
