Draw a large, 18" circle onto your white background fabric.
I like to use dishes from the kitchen as templates.
Cut out and applique a 10" heart from your pink material.
Cut out and applique an 8" heart from your white material onto your pink heart.
Cut out and applique 6 - 2" pink circles.
Cut out and applique a flower to the center of the white heart.
I prefer to use Starch applique but you are welcome to use any applique technique.
Refer to the top image for heart placement and circle placement.
From your green print you will add the word hugs.
Refer to the top image for word placement.
After all applique is completed machine quilt inside the circle that you originally drew.
Trim around that circle to create a round place mat.
Now bind and enjoy!
Repeat to create as many Valentines Day Place Mats and you would like.
Super simple isn't it!
If you would like a PDF that includes the templates for the applique pieces please email me and I will send them to you.
