Two by Two

There isn't a lot of sewing going on here lately, but I have made a little progress on these I-Spy squares. They are all paired up. This is my first time chain piecing, and most of the seams stayed straight. It went really quickly, and I can totally understand why people use this method.

I like how all the fabrics look together. Probably only about 60% are actual "I-Spy" type novelty fabric squares. The others are flowers, and some interesting geometrics. There is lots to look at anyway. But by using a variety of "adult" modern fabrics alongside the novelty ones, it let me coordinate the colours better and give it all a prettier, less cutesy look (I think anyway). The finished quilt will be a Christmas gift for a sweet little girl I know.
