When I was growing up my mom owned a custom drapery and home decor shop. I, along with my sisters and brother spent a lot of time in the summers hanging out in the back room there. One summer I decided that I wanted to make a quilt. So I gathered up all of the scraps from the ladies, there were all sorts of scraps, tapestry's, woven,s, cottons, just about everything I could get my hands on. Then whenever there was a break on the machines I would jump in and sew on my quilt. I am thinking I was about eleven.
I was quite proud of this quilt.
After getting married it went into my cedar chest and it has stayed there until just recently. At one of my trunk shows I decided to share were I began.
The quilt isn't in the best shape, it's falling apart at the seams, half of the ties have come out, the binding is bad, but oh well, we all start somewhere.
