valentines

Irean's Swirls

'Tis the season for love, and we're inspired by the expressions of love in all forms of fabric art and quilting. In Irean's Swirls, the quilted swirls perfectly complement the rounded shapes of the red hearts; and the darker red fabric adds shading, giving a 3-D effect, especially from a distance. The little red squares that dangle at the tips of the hearts are a nice touch. Don’t they remind you of hot-air balloons with their baskets underneath?

Happy Hearts

The gorgeous, black-and-white shading of Happy Hearts by Nancy Watts provides the perfect contrast for the hearts. The growing strength of the heart is symbolized by the intense red color of the hearts as they sweep into the light. Check out the larger image here.

Hearts of Love from Sharon to Sharyn: center detail

We love the heart-shaped flowers on this beautiful quilt by Janie Schott. The center design, "My Heart Strings", is by Sharon Schamber. It's no surprise that the quilt won an award at the 2010 Road to California show!

Hearts Galore

Red may be the color of love, but pink is perfect for this quilt. We especially love the fanciful design of the appliqued hearts. See Suzy Q Quilts etsy shop for this quilt and other delectables.
