Hi from Annabel

These are just a few snippets from past work that were to hand for uploading. I've been sewing, painting and blogging for quite a while and can't imagine life without doing something creative.

There are better pictures, more up to date work, and more information on my website, which is here and the blog here.  Recenlty I've been painting portraits, but am in the process of trying a large scale life painting on cloth.....not sure if it's any good yet!

Nice to meet you all!

Above: bit from Yellow Daisies

Right: Warwickshire Museum 2 - Decay.

Chinese Lattice 1. Yellow/Blue. The squares are paper, gesso and paint and are hand and machine sewn into place.

Close up of Chinese Lattice 2. Based on marginalisation of the textiles by the art world. It contains the words, women's work, structure, and domesticity in the background cloth.

Section of 40 Voices, based on the music  Spem in Alium by Thomas Tallis.

Warwickshire Museum series. Collaged cloth, gold leaf and grid overlay.

Snippet of Hunderwasser quilt, from one of his paintings.

Close up of mesh from The Old Eucalypt. Made with tyvek, sliced, and stitched into a mesh using aquafilm.

Bamboo. My DD2's favourite and which I sold much to her annoyance. I've been promising to make her another, but don't seem to be able to do the same thing twice.
