Good evening!
I decided to check out my site, and was so amazed that it has been so long since I have been even here. I know many know I had a bad deal happen to me. Still not very well yet, but much better. It feels good to get back to things I use to do. I have been in my nest, doing some hand quilting, let me say learning a few new rules, and tried out a new technique too. I started to do that inklingo, and ordered Shape collection #1. Something I could do while I am on oxygen almost 24/7 now. It is truly enjoyable. It is so easy, fast, and everything works together, and wow then you have a block finished. Therefore, I have been just playing around with that the last week. What I find nice, is when my DH is home, he seems to enjoy watching TV when I am in the same room. I do not always enjoy what he watches, such as the history channel, I can sit and work on this project, doing blocks by hand and tune out that TV show, and I find this to be perfect.
I have lots of other projects going on too, yet not yet up to getting into them right now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Fourth of July. As for myself, I will be here alone, as DH is working, and I will just enjoy my day playing with new blocks.
Hugs Morgan

Mo Wishes You All a Happy 4th!

We will be staying home and enjoying some simple family time...
a picnic and a little croquet.
Mo loves a watching a good game of croquet!
(No going out to see fireworks as we don't want to leave Mo alone.)

As for Mo... she is still hanging in there, despite the ever growing sinus tumor which now distorts her snout, a constantly runny and sometimes bloody nose, and a slew of infections due to a suppressed immune system.
Her mood remains amazingly positive.
I on the other hand have been feeling very blue over Mo. It is so hard watching someone you love be so sick, (it has been a year now) and truthfully, dealing with the daily care can take a toll on one's energy and mood. However, just when I think I can't deal with much more, (of which I feel much guilt over) Mo gives me one of those looks... a goofy smile, a wag of the tail, a twinkle in her eye and my heart melts with love and renewed energy.

We take care of each other.

A photo quilt
I am catching up on some posting and want to take the next couple of weeks to highlight some of quilted projects and quilts that I have worked on over this year. I don't have the capacity to post about every quilt I work on, therefore I aim to post things that I think might inspire your own creativity, like today's post! This quilted wall hanging was a creative way to cherish and preserve memories using fabric photos! This was made by Thankful Sanftlefben. Thankful's daughter asked her to make this special memory wall hanging her in-law's anniversary celebration. She used dark and medium fabrics to create a shadow effect on the fabric which essentially framed each photo. The rose fabric was framed as one of the pictures to represent the roses from their wedding. I quilted on each frame with wiggle/squiggle lines and then the background with meandering leaves and swirls. I used three different thread colors to match each fabric. Using a double poly-batting makes the photos puff and not sag as there is no quilting on the photo (just on the frames). This way they stay smooth. For more pictures check out the Memory and T-shirt Quilts on the media gallery.
