Scraps Beware: Operation Complete Scrap Depletion

First off, I am not using the terms Scrapbusting or Scrapbuster anymore because every time I think of those words that old annoying Ghostbusters song pops in my head (Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters!) and it circles around in my brain for half the day. So lets just say instead that I'm doing a really good job depleting my scrap pile.

I made more of the random railfence blocks over the weekend. (The tutorial is in my previous post here if you're interested) I can't believe how fast they go together!
It is fun to see all my scraps sewn together.

I think I am going to make a queen size quilt to get rid of everything. I also have some solid scraps left from my Les Iles Inspired Quilt, so I have been experimenting with layouts, thinking of how I could work them in.
Maybe with some giant ric rac? The more hideous, err I mean lively, the better? The ric rac is not a scrap. I just bought it for fun. It was 89 cents a yard at my favourite quilty place so I thought that was cheap enough to get some to experiment with.

I am actually going about this quilt in an organised assembly line type way. These are my buckets of strips at various stages of production.
And after I am done cutting all the strips I want off each scrap piece, I am piling the leftovers together for my partners in a scrap swap I joined in recently. I think I am going to expand my interpretation of "small envelope" hee, hee and see how much I can send them without spending too much on shipping. I'll find out who I have for my three partners soon. I am determined to use up almost all my scraps between this quilt and the swap and I think it just may happen.

Happy Scrapping!
