My favourite display at the KVQG show was a display of "Box Top Quilts." It was such a neat idea and I imagine the guild members had fun making the little quilts. Seven months ago, the members each drew a "box top" out of a bag. They were then to use their chosen top to design and create a mini quilt.
Some of the quilts were very literal recreations of the box tops. Some used the content of the box top to let their creativity and sense of humour shine. Others used the colours of the top to inspire a more subtle but lovely traditional design.

The landscape shown below was by Susan McEachern. It was inspired by a Vachon Passion Flakie box.
I got a laugh out of the Eggo kitty below by Jill Lloyd. His colours were so perfectly inspired by the box colours and I love the disgruntled look on his face, like he doesn't appreciate being named "Eggo."
