KVQG Quilt Show Virtual Tour: Part 2 of 5

Welcome back! Let's continue our tour. More prize winners today!
The two photos above are of St. George and the Dragon by Judith LeClue of Darlings Island, NB.
It won first place in the Large Traditional Category as well as Best of Show. In a word: Wow!
Next up is Frosted Memories by Joan A. Smith of Salisbury, NB. This quilt won both Best Pieced and Best Machine Quilting.

Above is Celtic Sampler by Sandi MacMillan of Fredericton, NB. This quilt won Best Hand Applique.
Now for the Small Traditional Category. Quilts in this category were both pieced and quilted by the person who entered. First place went to the beauty above. It is Blooming Redwork by Sandi MacMillan. I don't have photos of the second and third place quilts -- simply because people were probably standing in the way admiring them when I was there with my camera. :-) Second place in the Small Traditional went to Bonsai by Diane Haggerty. Third went to Geisha Girls by Sandi MacMillan.

Now, onto the modern category. In the modern category, the quilts had to be both pieced and quilted by the person who entered, but the quilts could be of any size (even a wall hanging). First place is shown above. It is Memories of Patagonia by Juliet Nowlan of Quispamsis, NB.

Second place went to Dragonflies in Flight by Brenda Dunsmore of Cambridge Narrows. The wings of the dragonflies were a cool metallic fabric. Third place (no photo) went to Holiday Sparkle by Catherine McGavney.

Next up, Group Hand Quilted. Quilts in this category were hand quilted and made by more than one person -- either a group worked on the whole quilt, or a single person sent their quilt out to be hand quilted by someone else. I don't have photos of either first or second place, but they were Leaves of the Ancient Ginkgo by Nancy Estle and Citrus Nine Patch by Faye Sherrard. Third place is shown above. It is Fields and Furrows by Geraldine Reinders of Saint John.

One of the Judges Choice Awards went to this wall hanging. It is Dazzling Pineapple by Sandi MacMillan.

Another Judges Choice Award went to Star Puzzle by the Nauwigewauk Seniors Group.
The third Judges Choice (no photo) went to Friendship by Davida Sisk.

Meet me back here again soon for more quilt show viewing. There is still soooo much more to show. (Can you tell it was the first show I've ever been to and I kind of just dove right in? It really was lots of fun to wander through taking pictures)
