Saturday Afternoon Sewing: Pillowcase Dress

Happy Saturday!  It's a grey, grey day here (although fingers crossed it won't rain as my son's first golf lesson ever is tonight and he is super excited!).  We've been hanging out here and playing inside today, so I told my daughter I'd make her a dress.

I let her pick the fabrics.  Before I called her in to choose, I set out lots of my Jennifer Paganelli stash as well as a few other choices which I thought were nice to try to tempt her ...
It was to no avail.  She went for the drawers.  (Yes, that is my stash -- the sum total of it)
After a bit of negotiating she had a final choice.  In the photo above she is laying on her choice and shoving mine away.
Here's the finished project.  It whipped up really quickly.  Putting the binding around the arm holes took the longest.
It turned out cute, even though I did make the arm holes way too big.  Next time I will go much smaller.  Tess is 4 and is quite a petite little thing.  I really hardly needed an armhole scoop at all, and I pretty much cut out Grand Canyons!
The dress is nice and comfy for running.
She did end up with a Jennifer Paganelli print, although it wasn't one I had set out.
Relaxing ...

Hope you're having a great weekend!
