Thankful

With Thanksgiving this week I am feeling very thankful. I wanted to spend a day or two thinking about all of the things in my life that I am thankful for.
The beautiful snow that is falling.
I am not a skier but I am thankful for the moisture that the snow brings us.
I am thankful that I have the ability to make warm quilts to keep everyone warm during the cold winters.
I am thankful for my job. I never thought my machine quilting business would grow so quickly. I love what I do. I love that my job has allowed me to be with my daughter all day every day.
I am thankful for little TV's and the bed in my studio. They are very entertaining and keep Chesney busy so I can quilt.
I am also thankful for...
the 7 million stickers that are stuck to my face right now, (that means that my daughter is having fun)
the furnace
warm coats
a warm bed
a supportive family
family to spend Thanksgiving with this year.
What are you thankful for?
Please post a little thankful post on your blog and then link up here.
Lets be thankful this year.

Highland Cows and Happy Holidays!

Eldest daughter met up with some Highland cows last week while traveling through Scotland. After pleasant introductions they all became fast friends. :0)

Tomorrow will be the first Thanksgiving that we have not been together since her birth. And even though I will miss her so, I am so grateful and thankful to see her having such fun and adventure. She may be an ocean away but she is always in my heart.

Whether you are here, there or anywhere, wishing you and yours much love, laughter and gratefulness, today, tomorrow and always. Happy Thanksgiving. xo

Tales from the Kitchen and Beyond

I love the rituals of baking a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The smells remind me of family far away. We have so many things to be grateful for this year. All we love are healthy and have a warm home.

There are so many friendships in my life that lift me up and inspire me. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement this year.

I finished my Christmas ornaments and hung them in the kitchen window to enjoy on Thanksgiving day. They looked so nice there that my husband asked me to leave some hanging in the window year round.

Here are some of my wares in progress. I finished my work late (as always) Friday night and packed for the craft fair. I was not sure what to expect as I am new to the craft show scene. We were in a small town and I had a reasonably good day despite the fact.
I am happy to say the mad rush is behind me. Next weekend will be spent at Patsy's Homestead Cabin Retreat. If you would like to join us, there are still four openings left for this discounted weekend. I am leaving my sewing machine at home and taking a tumbling blocks quilt that I have been hand piecing as well as a hand quilting project. I can't wait!
