Pincushions, (again!) and Sew, Mama, Sew!

Three more pincushions, and this time I added a vintage button to each one...

The design and peeling red paint on this button really speaks to me.

A sweet vintage flower button in honor of springtime.

One of my favorite types... a vintage lucite button with sparkly bits of mother-of-pearl embedded inside.

They are now listed for sale, (along with the individual "Crossroad Flags" from the post below) in my Etsy shop.

And here's a big YAY! My Work Quilt #2 is featured today over at Sew, Mama, Sew! where they are featuring a "quilt-of-the-day" all month long!

Head on over and check it out... leave a comment at Sew, Mama, Sew! and you'll have a chance to win one of the great prizes that they are giving out this week. Good Luck!

P.S. Loved hearing how you all felt in the comment section of my last post. Hugs to each of you for sharing. xo

The Hamster Wheel of Life

Well it's taken me 2 weeks to make a whopping 3 pincushions. (For comparison, 2 weeks is how long it took me to make my last Work Quilt... what gives?) I feel like March has been one big hamster wheel, and I'm the hamster!

These three pincushions are now available in my shop. I have a few more in the works, but at the rate I'm going I may not finish and post them till the end of the week...

I hope April proves more productive then March has been for me... I think I'm starting to develop a complex :0)

P.S. I used the some of the Sulky® Cotton Blendable Threads for the hand stitching. I like the subtle shifts of color and am anxious to machine quilt with them, too!

Pincushions, Productivity and Bupkis

Made these pincushions several weeks ago, and have just finally gotten around to posting them in my Etsy shop, which has now, (finally) reopened!

You can see more pincushions here. (Update: Since posting this last night I have already sold 5 of the six pincushions listed. (Yeah!) But you can view them in the "sold" section of my shop. Hoping to post more soon.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This past week was going to be one of great creative productivity... that was the plan, Stan, but it didn't exactly pan out that way. I got bupkis done. I didn't even find time to visit everyone's blog, (hangs head in shame.) Don't ask me where all the time went, I've looked but I can't find it... life must have gobbled it up when I wasn't looking. Does that ever happen to you? Hoping next week proves more fruitful. Till then have a great weekend, Everyone!
Sweet and Simple
The items are sweet and simple, the blog post is short and sweet...
(as well as one more shameless and self indulgent plug!)
Pincushion Pillows
Mini Patchwork Quilt
With very simple piecing and the help of some good 'ol solids, the patchwork mini quilt and the 3 pincushion pillows were all easily made using just 1 fat quarter of my Posie Party fabric. All the stitched items shown are also available in my BooDilly's shop!
And speaking of sweet, (and self indulgent!) enjoy your Trick or Treating! (Hopefully it's all treats and no tricks!)
Wishing everyone a very Happy Halloween!
Pretty Pretty Pincushion
I decided to skip my usual Friday "Everyday Pleasures" post today so that I could share with you the exquisitely pretty, pretty pincushion that I recently purchased from Karen, of Etsy's Contemporary Stitches and of the lovely blog Contemporary Embroidery.
I have been enamored of Karen's work for sometime now, and am thrilled to have a piece of it! This beautiful hand stitched silk pincushion features cutaway areas with bits of vintage embroidered textile peeking through!
I love the attention to detail!
And it's just as pretty on the reverse side!
And look at the beautiful gift that Karen included for me!
Darling handmade silk and vintage embroidered buttons!! I am in heaven! Thank you Karen, I will treasure your work forever!
In keeping with the vintage textile feel of today's post, here is today's "BooDilly Daily Dilly"...
A vintage cloth tape measure!
