Art Nouveau Garden starts to bloom

Here are some steps in the production process as Kathy's latest Art Nouveau-inspired design, Art Nouveau Garden based on an Alphonse Mucha design, takes shape.  Kathy's new quilt will bloom for the first time at Brisbane Royal National Association Exhibition quilt show in August, followed by further flowerings at Toowoomba Quilters Inc. exhibiton in September and Queensland Quilters Inc. State Exhibition in Brisbane in October.

Gather Ye Rosebuds US tour

Gather Ye Rosebuds is presently on a working holiday in the US. Here she is adorning pattern distributors The Pattern Peddlers stand at Spring Market, Salt Lake City in May.  However, she won't be the only one on tour, Kathy Adams, her designer, will catch up with "Rosebud" at The Pattern Peddlers stand at Fall Market in Houston in October.  Kathy is thrilled to be making her first visit to a quilt market in the US, and will be taking part in "Schoolhouse Sessions" and other activities at the Houston Market.

Gather Ye Rosebuds is a 13 part pattern set which can be easily kitted out as a Block of the Month. Last year quilters who made their "Rosebud" quilts won prizes at two State quilt shows in Australia.  Wholesale and retail inquiries welcome.

Art Nouveau on a roll

This is the beginning of the first panel which will be at the bottom left of the quilt. When this design is complete I will start making it. It will be made in the "Quilt-as-you-go" style, but I think I will use a different technique to the Rosebud quilt. With this one, I think I will use machine and hand embroidery to create a different look. There will be less freehand quilting and more outline quilting. Some of the flowers will be three dimensional. I just can't wait to start, as I have been collecting all the Bali fabrics I need for this quilt.
