I left my heart . . .

. . . on the kitchen table.

Or at least, I left my little mug rug heart on the table!

I was being very quiet yesterday. Todd wasn't feeling well (he caught what I had earlier in the week), and so I was trying to do things that made no noise. I was on the computer, reading blogs and web surfing . . . and finally got tired of looking at other people's projects and decided to make one of my own! Especially since I took the Christmas stuff down and don't have much in the way of Valentine's Day decorations. I needed to make a heart . . .

It's a perfect fit!

My design wall is a bust. I was going to work on my next BOM yesterday, but I wanted to tidy up my quilting space first. I decided that was too noisy a venture, so the BOM will have to wait. However, lots and lots of busy bees have beautiful designs walls just waiting for you to check out over at Judy Laquidara's Patchwork Times!

Happy Valentine's Day!

:)

Valentine's Day Breakfast - Looks like a QUILT to me !

Love the colors.  They would make a great quilt!

Thanks to Gwen and Jerry I had a colorful breakfast with the Valentine's candies, my oatmeal and fresh strawberries. The blue candy is chocolate covered blueberries combined with chocolate covered pecans and I added chocolate covered raisins and strawberries!  Oh and a little coffee to get me started on this bright and sunny Monday morning!

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Note:  I did not eat Ritch's candy.  Although it was tempting!

gorgeous finish . . .

This week may have started out on the rough side,
but thanks to my darling man,
it sure finished on a gorgeous note!

Isn't it sweet? I love flowers delivered at work!

I ♥ him!

sweet & sweet . . .

Would you like to know what happens when your stocking stays up into February? The Stocking Elf has to switch from Christmas candy to this . . .

My favorite conversation hearts and . . .

Heart-shaped boxes of chocolates! Yay for the Stocking Elf!

Monday I spent the day with Sawyer; we had such a fun day, full of swinging and bouncy seats . . .

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner . . . he's a great eater -- he'll try anything!

Sawyer: Really, Grandma? Another picture? Mercy.

We played with pretty much every toy he has. Twice. And the horse is a prominent figure in his play-time. I remember three months ago, he didn't want to have a thing to do with that horse! Now he loves on it, all the time.

I love his concentration! He's really reading that book (no matter that it's a picture book).

I wish you could hear him as he reads. It's so precious!

I will share that the more mobile and active he gets, the more worn out I am at the end of the day! I sure do understand why young women have babies and old women have menopause. LOL!

My portion of the nursery preparations are nearly finished! I'll finish up the bumper pads tonight -- whoohoo!! Jocelyn is packing her bags and getting all ready. It's all so exciting!

march comes roaring in!

Well, it wasn't completely unexpected . . . March certainly does enjoy playing at all ends of the weather spectrum! We woke up to this snowy weather, and it's not let up yet! I think "Nick" the cardinal looks so pretty in his wintry white backdrop!

It truly would have been the perfect day to stay warm and cozy up at the campsite, and work on quilts and bake cookies, or something, but no, it's off to work I go!

Yesterday, I had a great opportunity to get a couple of shots of the red bellied woodpecker who's been visiting our suet and bird feeders. He really is one of the most handsome birds we have visiting. And Todd's favorite!

I think he was posing for me! I love that I can be sitting on the couch, look out my window, and take this shot.

In a desperate attempt to both hold onto the promise of Spring and keep as long as possible the flowers Todd sent me for Valentine's Day, I salvaged this small handful of pretty blooms . . .

And finally, as promised, I did continue to play around with my new-found Star Puzzle pattern and the wedding quilt fabrics! I wasn't really happy with the neutral fabric, though. It was fine when it was the backdrop for a guest's signature and sentiment, but not so much in the particular block. I was going through my stash, and found a beautiful white piece of fabric with lavender and gray leafy accents . . . it's PERFECT!!! I love this fabric and it just makes the star POP! I may have to do the back of the wedding quilt in this fabric!! :) The photos simply do not do it justice.

I also tried it using a starker white fabric in the center. It looks dimensional here because, well, it was! I've not cut anything . . . I'm just folding and playing for now . . .

I may have to do a whole 'nother quilt with this!

On another note, Todd's dad is not feeling too good. He was ill enough to call Todd yesterday morning and ask him to bring him some medicine and agreed to a doctor's visit. Today he called Todd and said he thought a trip to the ER was in order. He was right; he's got pneumonia and they've admitted him. He's in good hands now, and is starting to feel some relief. God is good!

happy valentine's day!!

My best friend and valentine . . .

And the pretty & snowy view out our window
this morning. The table is all set for a romantic,
candlelit breakfast before heading to church!

Today is a day to enjoy . . .

Vive l'amour!

what a guy!

I'm just gonna take a few well-deserved moments here and brag on my man. He is the total stuff!

Last night (after receiving flowers at work) I came home to a prepared meal. I was so grateful! And let me tell you, my darling man is a *great* cook! We had a hearty stew that was just wonderful. And he cleaned up after dinner to boot.

Then he showed me a picture of what he thinks our next big purchase for RV living should be:

Is that awesome or what???? It actually is pretty cool. It's portable, fits a full place setting for four, and it will SANITIZE our dishes while it cleans them. With all the sickness the two of us have been enjoying over the last two months, that's pretty important. Even when I rinse the dishes in rinse water with Clorox diluted into it, I don't feel like they're as clean as they need to be!

Cute, non? It looks a little like a microwave! I just wanna pinch its cute little cheeks! Ahem. Anyway . . .

So, as if all that (flowers, dinner, dishwasher) is not enough, this morning Todd, my SUPERman, leaves when I leave for work so he can open and shut the gate for me. He's so sweet! So as he walks to the gate, he opens my car door and slips me a little sugar . . . literally *and* figuratively!

What can it be?? I know one thing . . . it's from one of my favorite stores, Two Friends! (I did lots of Secret Pal shopping there.)

A heart-shaped box of Godiva chocolates! Godiva chocolates are my favorite! They even make flowers smell better. Really, they do! Can you believe this husband of mine? Flowers & dinner yesterday, chocolates today . . . gracious!

Yum, yum, yum. This is true love. I am a spoiled, pampered wife. I know I've got it good! You know what the best part is, though? He's such a godly man; he loves the Lord and serves Him with all his heart.

I am blessed.

flower power flash . . .

There's nothing like a vase of fresh flowers to make
a girl feel good. Lots & lots better. Great even.
Maybe, dare I say it . . . FANTASTIC!

Especially when they're delivered to her at work . . .

and she's not expecting them in the least . . .

and they're absolutely beautiful . . .

and they're from her most darling, wonderful, loving husband.

*girl sigh*
