Make it yourself Doll House and People

I found this great idea for a doll house at Ferm Living.com
Four children can play with easily at the same time and it would be so easy to make myself.

Then I found these wooden people for sale on Etsy, ready to paint.

Cinderella Theatre Miniature

"Recreate your own toy theatre production of the pantomime Cinderella.
Follow the instructions on how to download and assemble your theatre which
comes complete with characters, scenery and an original toy theatre script."

Follow this link

I've already downloaded and printed my html copy onto card stock.
Next I'll color then attach the pieces to lightweight cardboard and assemble.
I found this photo on wikipedia to give me direction on coloring.

Here are a few of the theatre backdrop scenes.

And some of the puppets

This is a fun project.

Fall has officially arrived.
My day lilies are beginning to turn brown and soon the snow will be here.

Just in time for the festive holiday season, Acorn Pies shares this clever

Terrariums

The other day I ran across an article in the New York Times
about tiny terrariums - miniature gardens
Two women in Brooklyn New York make these wonderful little worlds.

I searched and searched and discovered the people are hand-painted
zero scale architectural miniatures

You can purchase them here

at Oak Ridge Hobbies (on line)

Fairy Gardens

Last summer I watched as my neighbor and her husband
built a Fairy Garden by the fountain in their yard.
I was fascinated and wanted one of my own.
Kleas has a wonderful tutorial and beautiful pictures
of fairy gardens she creates with her preschool students.
They are lovely and make me feel transported into another place and time

You can see them here.
