This weekend I worked a bit on my Selvage Heart Quilt, now also known as the Love-Serendipity-Family Quilt. Above is Love. Here's Family. And the three words together. Serendipity is a long word. It is also the theme of our guild's show this year. Those pieces are just sitting there by the way. There will be other parts put between the words.
Here are a few other pieces added in to give a better idea how the words will be framed. When I am sewing selvages I do them in little sections at a time. I find the most challenging thing about selvage quilting is keeping things (close to) straight. By doing it bit by bit I can keep things lined up better.

I am really keen to finish this quilt. I got a bit sidetracked after I made a section I didn't like, but I am happy to be working on it again now. I have been waiting for what seems like forever for some fabric to arrive in the mail in order to make the perfect little finishing section on this quilt. It's an idea I've had a long time and it makes me smile whenever I think of it. So, fingers crossed, maybe the fabric will arrive this week and I can get going on it.

And on an other note, I got the best email this weekend! Sandra of the Florenceville-Bristol Up River Girls (in New Brunswick) let me know that my Scrapbuster Random Railfence Block Tutorial was put to good use as the group made quilt tops for the wonderful charity Victoria's Quilts on Saturday! They sliced and diced and sewed and sewed. So, so cool! I read the email first thing this morning and it really brightened my day. It's things like this that make blogging extra fun for me. Thank you so much Up River Girls!
